As visiting scientist she attended for several years the lab. of Prof. Clara Franzini-Armstrong a member of National Academy of Science USA and of the Royal Society of London, at the University of Pennsylvania (PA).
In the 2011 she was awarded the Young Investigator Prize at the EMC (Berlin, September 2011), the most important meeting on muscle in Europe. The importance of her work has been recognized by having the honor to be for 4 times invited speaker at the Gordon Conference on Muscle EC-coupling (last in the 2019).
Today Boncompagni has more than 60 peer-review publications, 2400 citations, an h-index of 26 and some of her key electron micrographs appear in text books.
