Francesco Berardi

Assistant Professor of Latin Language and Literature at University G. d’Annunzio since 2018

Berardi completed his PhD at the same University in 2007. He was research fellow at Université Paris Est (2011) and won a research prize from International Society for the History of Rhetoric (2009) for his studies on the relationship between word and image.

He got a ISHR fellowship in 2013. He obtained the qualification as associate Professor in Classical Philology (2014) and Latin Language and Literature (2017). He is editoral member of three international journals (Latinitas, Pan – Rivista di filologia latina, Papers on Rhetoric). He published 5 monographs and over 30 papers with focus on classical rhetoric, school handbooks of preliminary exercises (progymnasmata) and Greek and Latin poetry (Apollonius Rhodius, Ovidius, Martialis).
